Questions regarding the applicability of
international law to the use of the Internet in various
jurisdictions continue to plague attempts to arrive at a universally
accepted benchmark. The world is a diverse place. Various forms of
government set differing standards of behavior. They establish
systems of reward and punishment to promote the accepted practice of
politics, religion, business and morality in all arenas of life.
How then are these divergent interests and the
laws they inspire to be fairly and evenly applied to the global
medium of the Internet? Each citizen in every nation cannot be
subject to the laws of every other nation.
