Find Oracle current waits If you want to see whether any sessions are currently waiting for latches, you can use the currlwaits.sql script: See Code depot for complete script select a.sid, username, . . . seq#, wait_time, statefrom sys.v$session_wait a, sys.v$session b, sys.v$latchname c where . . . (select name from sys.v$event_name where name like '%latch%') order by 1; Keep in mind that catching an actual session latch wait is a difficult thing to do, since they rarely consume much time. The above is an excerpt from Oracle Performance Troubleshooting by Robin Schumacher. It's only $19.95 and you can order it and get instant access to the Oracle scripts here: http://www.rampant-books.com/book_2003_1_perf.htm
